AECOM are seeking a high calibre

**Highways Project Planner** with a proven track record in the control and delivery of major highways projects to support the delivery of a substantial portfolio of major highways projects. The key function of this role will be to implement project planning systems and manage the schedules for a number of major highways projects. This position is to be based in our

**Birmingham** office.

You will become a key member of the Project Management Office and be able to work closely with project stakeholders to support overall programme planning and project controls. You will prepare project work breakdown structures and plans required to deliver project objectives. You will also provide effective project performance measurement and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Creating robust resourced project schedules aligned to the work breakdown structure.

+ Working with design teams to establish activity sequences and durations; identify schedule dates and milestones; determine interdisciplinary interfaces and constraints.

+ Working with design teams to monitor and update schedules to reflect progress and earned value.

+ Developing schedules for new scope items; and recovery schedules or contingency plans to meet changed objectives.

+ Working with risk and efficiency managers to support scenario planning, risk mitigation and opportunity realisation.

+ Supporting earned value management, forward cost and staffing forecasts.

+ Preparation of performance reports for design teams, project manager and client.

+ Contributing to technical excellence and innovation.

+ Collaborating with project stakeholders in the sharing and collection of scheme data.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ A degree in Civil Engineering or a related alternate, or demonstrated equivalent work experience

+ Proven experience with Primavera software (P6) and MS Excel in producing, monitoring, maintaining and updating schedules.

+ Experience in the management, delivery or planning of highways projects would be an advantage

+ Experience in planning and scheduling projects throughout the lifecycle from planning, through to execution and construction.

+ Good knowledge of NEC types of contract and the role of the programme in contract management.

+ A track record of engineering positions with a focus on planning and resourcing

+ Ability to manage own workload and have a flexible attitude to rapid changes in task to meet urgent project needs.

+ Self-motivated and proactive, constantly looking for ways to improve project delivery.

**Preferred Qualifications**

The role will involve regular travel to our Chesterfield office to coordinate with the wider design teams.
