**Job Summary**

AECOM is currently looking to recruit an experienced Technical Director / Associate Director – Contaminated Land and Remediation Services to join the largest environmental team in Australia. The team is comprised of environmental engineers, scientists, geologists, hydrologists, hydrogeologists, and ecologists. The role includes leading a wide range of contaminated land projects, including large international oil and gas, mining and public sector clients across Western Australia and further afield. The Technical Director/ Associate Director position will play a lead role in continuing to develop the contaminated land business by developing and enhancing client relationships and winning work.

The role involves managing and directing staff on complex projects along with providing technical leadership and innovation based on significant experience in contaminated land assessment ranging from due diligence through to detailed site investigations, remediation options and implementation, environmental management plans, decommissioning works, validation works, and stakeholder management. Experience in working with or as a Site Auditor in contaminated land assessment is critical to this role.


* Taking a lead role in the management and development of the contaminated land business, including generating opportunities and winning new business.

* Develop and implement strategies for business growth, by playing a pro-active and leading role in developing new clients and new proposal opportunities. To engage in planning effective marketing activities on a regular basis.

* Manage and successful delivery of major contaminated land projects through to site reclassification.

* To provide technical leadership to both analyse client requirements and to conceive innovative, cost-effective and legislatively compliant solutions in order meet and exceed client expectations. Maintain AECOM's position as a leader of environmental consultancy services.

* To work with contaminated land practitioners throughout the project life-cycle.

* Undertake peer review of technical and editorial content of proposals and deliverables.

* To develop, supervise and oversee staff as both a mentor and motivator.

* To represent AECOM at senior meetings and events, both internally and externally.

* Develop and maintain positive relationship with clients to enhance client retention and growth.

* Effectively communicate in a professional manner with other project staff including subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the community to enhance working relationships and outcomes.

**Minimum Requirements**

* 15+ years' experience of successfully leading major contaminated land projects across a number of market sectors. Preference gives to contaminated lands work in Western Australia.

* Proven success with both regulators and site auditors to reclassify and close out sites.

* Demonstrated commercial acumen.

* Existing client relationships and proven results in business development skills.

* Effective collaboration, organisation, negotiation and teaming skills.

* Strong oral and written communication skills; report writing, development of proposals.

* Experience in successfully leading project teams.

* Effective and persuasive leadership skills.

* Excellent communication and networking skills.

* Ability to represent the business to clients.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Appropriate tertiary qualification(s) in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Law, Environmental Engineering or similar.

* Recently published or presented paper(s) in a relevant technical area would be highly regarded
