Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a Technical Publications Manager to provide support to the Sustainment, Engineering and Acquisition (SEA) sector. This position will be located at our Norfolk office on Robin Hood Rd.

Manage workflow, scheduling, quality control of technical publications for the business unit. Write, edit, and coordinate communications activities and technical publications for the business unit, including marketing materials, trade show displays, internal communications, external public relations materials, and company proposals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage and/or coordinate personnel and assign work; develop, administer and track department budget, employee-related communications budget and various system pools; foster teamwork, motivate and reward department employees.

  • Manage and/or coordinate production of marketing materials; monitor all department output for quality control, including graphics, reproduction and printing functions; oversee maintenance and updating of marketing materials, including photo files, proposal boilerplate, resume database, and corporate capabilities database.

  • Write and edit monthly newsletter.

  • Identify and work with technical subject matter experts to acquire sufficient technical source material for development of technical publications.

  • Manage subject matter experts' participation and support the overall production coordination of proposals; edit and proofread proposals.

  • Administer public relations program, including compiling and updating lists of contacts, writing and disseminating press releases.

  • Coordinate company trade show participation.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing and at least seven (7) years of job-related experience or equivalent. Two (2) years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of education.

  • Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Navy technical, acquisition or program management experience required with a working knowledge of Navy procurement processes desired.
